Walking: Behind the Story
More than twenty years ago, Walking with Shadows began as a comic.
I drew pages. Designed characters. Wrote scenes. Built pieces of a world around them.
And then, like far too many creative projects, it remained unfinished.
But the characters never really went away. They stayed in my head—changing, growing, occasionally tapping on the inside of my skull to remind me that they were still there. 😅
When I returned to Walking with Shadows, I didn’t try to force it back into the form I originally imagined. Instead, I let it become what it needed to be: serialized fiction—and the first completed story from the world of Maezhiir.
These old pages, sketches, and notes are pieces of that journey. Some ideas survived almost untouched. Others became something I couldn’t have imagined twenty years ago.
The comic was never finished.
The story was.
And it wasn’t the only one. There are already many more adventures from Maezhiir waiting to be told—so, mercifully, you won’t have to wait another twenty years for the next one.

Read: Walking with Shadows
P.S. One of the story’s first readers finished it and immediately asked about the box. 📦
That question leads somewhere.
But for now, I could give her only one answer:
“Blink would know.”
